About The Artwork
Lost in music was inspired by experience of dance and music. The feeling of being totally absorbed into the beautiful world of sound. The colours are related to the eastern chakra system particularly the sacral chakra (Svadhisthana). The sacral chakra is the energy centre of creativity and sensuality. A place of free expression of feelings, movement and joy. Vishnu and Rakini are the deities residing here. Vishnu balances us, so we can be radiant. Rakini connects us with our inner fluidity, joy and happiness and meet our external environment with that energy. I chose gold and silver to express the alchemic state of perfection (gold) and purity (silver). Furthermore the sacral chakra is associated with the feminine, the moon, water and feelings. The painting has lots of layers and texture. Created with high quality light fast acrylic & fluorescent paint on gallery stretched canvas Sealed with a transparent gloss varnish which is breathable, permanent and protects against UV damage.

Gabriele Höhne grew up in the “Ruhr Valley” in Germany as it transformed from polluted heavy industrial centre to post-industrial cultural hub. After graduation Gabriele worked as an Art Director in advertising and interaction design. Her artistic soul found home in London where she took up painting to, as she puts it, let her spirit fly. Her work explores dreamworlds, perception of life events, and personal emotions
