About The Artwork
The oil technique has fantastic qualities and offers the highest degree of manipulation. It gives the possibility of glaze up to impasto structure in a rich spectrum of color pigments. In the series "Sounds of color" I make use of both. The classification leads to so-called "stripe art". Decorative art does not appeal to my own sensation, so I interpreted it in my own way. Light and space are components of my artwork. And color development is one of my priorities. The pictures are drawn with the spatula and with the brush. The irregular hand pressure gives a wonderful lively development of the lines. The "line row" tells their story of change from impasto to wafer-thin, from visible to dissolved, from permanent to broken, from one color to another. This development which manifests itself in each "line row" results in the overall image effect giving the sensation of entwined colorful sound vibrations.
