ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Oak tree seen in a forest preserve. Even though an invasive vine is beginning to take it over, it is still beautiful. Sister piece to Birch Trunk #1, shown as a pair in the last image below. Monotype processes differ from artist to artist. I paint on a plexiglass plate, then use an etching press to transfer the image. Then I add extra contrast and color directly to the paper. Oil over monotype, hand scroll paper. Mounted on bamboo scrolls top and bottom, though other framing options are available. Hahnnemühle copperplate bright paper. Signed and chopped. 16" x 48" - 2021
