Contact us.Valerio Doddi, artist and tattooist, was born in Rome in 1970. After many years working in Assisi — a city steeped in spirituality and art — he opened a professional tattoo studio, transforming the human body into a living canvas. For Doddi, tattooing is more than just technique: it is an authentic form of expression, a visual dialogue between skin and soul.
His artistic exploration extends far beyond skin, evolving into painting on canvas and cardboard. He brings with him the precision of tattoo design and enriches it with a vibrant exploration of colour. His works are both instinctive and composed, material yet poetic, immersed in an expressiveness that evokes abstract expressionism and the gestural language of both American and European traditions.
Doddi favours mixed media, incorporating fragments of matter — sand, small stones, fabrics, metals — fused with colour to create textured surfaces and tactile depth. His compositions resemble theatrical stage sets, where each element holds an emotional space. The strength of his brushwork is always accompanied by a profound delicacy, in a constant tension between power and introspection.
He now lives and works in the United Kingdom, where he continues his dual vocation as an artist and tattooist. Actively participating in exhibitions, cultural festivals, and art events, he contributes his distinctive voice to the contemporary art scene — forging a continual dialogue between body, material, and vision.
