ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was out for a drive from New Mexico to Colorado on a beautiful winter day. The scenery of trees in the snow was very inspiring and I came home and painted this view of a lone evergreen on a hillside, draped in snow. Something about the tree against the background of the darkening sky created the feel of a moody portrait. The painting is on a 1.5 inch deep canvas, with all the sides painted black, so it hangs without a frame in a simple, contemporary style.
