ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Oil on canvas board. This is an ongoing series of still lifes in which I pursue the use of a limited, earthy palette. These static and subdued paintings are meditations on the harmonious unity of contemporary conflicting individualities. I like to play with paint’s volume. Sometimes I make paint a realistic 3D object. In other instances an impasto dub shows that it's just paint on a flat surface of a canvas, as if an actor stops playing her role, turns to the camera and we can see a human being who just a few seconds ago was somebody else.
