The universe that Ana Maria Negara creates through the mirroring of the inner towards the interior, denotes an impressive accumulation of cultural knowledge for such an young artist but also a fascination, knowingly pursued, for understanding, capturing and reformulating an old repertoire of symbols and meanings. Nothing is by chance in this installation, where philosophy and metaphysics enter in a complex game of interaction with the inner-self of the viewer. The contradictory meanings confuse him, therefore his return to the stability of the wand, thus controlled, assures him the continuity of the adventure. It is only one possible interpretation, extremely synthetic, of what lives and is being offered by the young artists in her piece. Therefore, we can place the typology of the expression in the realm of “philosophical sculpture”, conceptual, which owes its existence to the new standards of contemporary art. Discussions that debate the concept and content of local and global or centre and periphery, lead to the definition of “universal artist”. The volume of information, documentation, experience and experiment is continuous and considerable, thus the assignation of such nomination becomes legitimate. Ana Maria Negară’s intention is to announce the state of her creation clearly, it is born in a perpetual rational established relation between the creator artist and the cultural values already encoded, all wrapped in a poetic metaphor due to the material used, mirror and mirroring, real and unreal, to freely quote Mircea Eliade, “a relation between man and Divinity, between man and man”. From materiality to aesthetic exploitation of materiality in a sustained plea for expression, Ana Maria Negară doesn’t forget a moment the interaction of conception game with short title, which instead generates broad narrations with a strong symbolic content. Reporting to an exceptional situation of contemporary sculpture becomes possible when naming Anish Kapoor; an art of “metallic reflections” generated by its huge special forms through the means of super-polishing the surfaces, capable of generating a mental state, capable of relating the individual to the illusion and reality of the spiritual meanings of the infinity found in a continuous remodeling.
