ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Carved in Ancaster stone, this solitary head is inspired by the fact, that in order to master drawing or sculpting the human form, you must practice body parts in isolation. Classes will produce a mass of hands, or feet or human heads, all without limbs or torsos. This head is androgynous in form and calls to mind the expressionless heads of mannequins in showrooms or shop windows. The sculpture can be installed indoors or outdoors.
