This work is composed of relatively fragile materials: a slender wire structure, fluttering fabric, thread, and clay. Although it appears easily shaken by various physical conditions, it firmly plants itself on the ground, maintaining its own center of gravity on two feet. Through this piece, I expl...

I focus on the movements and sensations used to endure moments of psychological and physical instability. When I falter due to the noise of daily life or offhand remarks, I engage in repetitive, minor habits to center myself. These acts—walking a fixed path within a cramped studio or obsessively kneading soft clay and objects—serve as both a support system to sustain my swaying self and a motor that generates invisible energy.
These microscopic movements are translated into the core techniques of my practice. Stroking the canvas, rubbing the damp surface of clay, or layering the trajectories of bodily movements onto translucent fabric is a performance intended to leave physical traces of fleeting motions and sensations. These recorded traces create a visual rhythm, eventually forming a cohesive flow and structure. Furthermore, this leads to an imagination of creating paths that hold accelerated energy through the overlapping of these trajectories. I long to capture the sense of tension and dynamism left by these repetitive movements as a visible scene or state. Giving substance to the movements of "holding on" is akin to translating invisible, unspecified sensations.
This flow extends beyond the two-dimensional plane into space. Here, my "standing paintings" exist in structures that lean against one another or stand precariously. Composed of thin fabric, paper, and wire structures, these fragile forms react sensitively to the slightest stimuli. Yet, even within that vibration, they maintain their place by finely adjusting their balance. As I witness these unstable entities, I question the diverse ways in which different beings sustain themselves amidst their own swaying.
