Contact us.I am a UK based artist specialising in textile art. I grew up on a farm within a creative family where my mum taught me many textile crafts.
I have a Master’s degree in textiles from the Manchester Metropolitan University having already achieved a BA degree in textile/fashion with chief study in embroidery. Spending time working with a milliner in University and enjoying the journey of making wearable art led me to become a self-employed milliner creating bespoke hats.
A more recent experimental period has led me to a focus on producing textile art using eco-friendly repurposed materials, transforming discarded materials into works of art.
Within my daily life, I aim to reduce waste, consumption, and generally embrace sustainable living. Therefore, applying this ethos to my art practice is equally as important.
The materials I use are chosen from an ever-growing stock of fabrics, threads, and worn-out clothing donated over the years. I believe that it is our responsibility, whilst creating art for our pleasure, that we consider the consequences of its impact on our planet.
I'm influenced by my immediate surroundings, particularly organic shapes, forms, and colours found within nature. The art pieces change and grow spontaneously throughout my creative process.
