ABOUT THE ARTWORK

What is this intruder? Why has the visitor come to look through the construction on the High Line in Manhattan? My notes: Arising behind the scaffolding It says discard that thought, Ignore annoyance, Just be. Yes, your temporary roof protects you from bolts that tumble down from a highrise being built above your head. But what protects you from this Visitor intruding into your autumn stroll, where is the netting that keeps such visions out? This image brings a randala made by Peter Pitzele into the cityscape, as a visitation. Jonathan Price's print appears on aluminum, with a one-inch backing. You can hang this from one nail--it's that light. No frame needed. The surface is bright and clear, easy to clean, durable, and dramatic.

Starting with a Doctorate in Fine Arts from Yale, I developed conceptual art and concrete poetry, showing in co-op galleries, The Jewish Museum, and the Brooklyn Museum in New York. At Apple, when it was primarily a computer company, I created the style guide used by their technical communication teams; I designed, edited, and wrote content for regular users, and thanks to MacPaint, started taking my artistic practice into the digital realm. I work in multiple applications on a Mac, exploring NASA photographs of the terrain that migrants go through coming to the United States, blended with topographic maps, vector analyses, and color studies. I explore mysterious landscapes, as when the Visitors arrive in Manhattan or New Mexico, strange alien shapes that enter into familiar cities or forests.
