My work exists at the crossroads of two distinct mediums—painting and photography—each with its own essence and yet complementary in telling stories of nature. As an artist, I'm fascinated by trees, their strength, the wisdom they silently possess, and their quiet persistence through the passing of time. They are a testament to resilience, growth, and inherent beauty. My work—whether it be through the tactile intimacy of painting or the immediate capture of photography—serves as an homage to these stalwart sentinels of nature. In my paintings, I endeavor to translate the ethereal qualities of trees onto canvas, layering colors and textures in a mimicry of their intricate bark patterns, reaching branches, and the serenade of their rustling leaves. I explore various techniques, incorporating both the precise detail of realism and the evocative abstraction of impressionism, to bring forth the unique personality of each tree. Each brush stroke is a word, and together they form a narrative of growth and survival, strength and vulnerability. In contrast, my photography offers an instant slice of reality, a raw and unfiltered perspective that anchors my work in the empirical world. Through the lens, I capture the singular moments of trees' existence—the way sunlight filters through a canopy of leaves, the stark silhouette against a winter sky, the vibrant explosion of colors in the fall. My photographs are as much about the trees as they are about the space they inhabit, creating a dialogue between subject and environment. In essence, my art is an exploration and celebration of trees as both individual characters and an integral part of our natural world. Their silent narratives are painted on their bark and captured through my lens, reflecting not just their personal journeys but our collective experience with nature. I strive to evoke a sense of appreciation for the often overlooked beauty in these majestic living structures and incite a dialogue about our relationship with the natural world around us. Every tree has a story to tell—of time, change, life, and resilience—and through my paintings and photographs, I aim to give them a voice. In the intersection of these two mediums, my work celebrates the complexity and simplicity of trees and aims to foster a deeper understanding and connection to the world that surrounds us.
