Dreams. Many of Carl’s works have come from dreams, have a dreamy quality and help viewers to dream a little too. His paintings are bold, colourful and large format, bringing to life any space in which they are hung. His inspiration comes from nature; from the blue of the sky and the oceans to the vivid greens of tropical foliage. Strange creatures may live there. Strange ideas certainly. Real images collide with the unreal in a kaleidoscope of colour and contrast.
This is not to say that Carl’s works are “way out”; not at all. It is just that they are a little different and make people smile and dream.
