About The Artwork

Well you see I have grandkids. These children are the light of my life, and when I am painting and they turn up, any serious thoughts of art in my head have to wait. I am called Poppy Pat to my grandkids and to all their friends. So what I am saying is that when they ALL turn up. I start to PLAY with a new canvas as they all watch, sometimes. So this painting is a collaboration of ideas and colors from the kids. I do the work they pick the colors. It is a very colorful piece with a lot of movement and fun. Mostly FUN. I hope you enjoy my Artwork Descriptions as they just come from my heart. I have seen that other artists waffle on about their art, I just tell it as it is. Full Stop. With a bit of humor. This painting is 60.5 cm wide and 91.5 cm high and 4 cm deep. It is finished with a gloss varnish which enhances the color and protects the paint. On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushion to protect your walls.

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette. His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured plaster bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character. As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary abstract. He uses various mediums and acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes. Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques. Patrick has had many exhibitions, either solo or combined with other artists. He has won acclaim and awards for his abstract imagination. His work is displayed in galleries on the Central Coast and in private collections. .
