The skull is a reminder of the inevitability of death.
Musical instruments, notes-a symbol of the ephemeral nature of life. Flowers are a symbol of love and sex.
Carnival mask-a sign of irresponsible pleasure.
Vanitas is a genre of painting, still life, reminiscent of the transience of life, the mandatory attribute of which is the human skull.
The objects depicted in the painting have an allegorical meaning:
The skull is a reminder of the inevitability of death.
Flowers are a symbol of love and sex.
Extinguished candle-departure of the human soul.
Playing cards or dice are a sign of a mistaken life goal.
The smoking pipe is a symbol of fleeting pleasures.
Carnival mask-a sign of irresponsible pleasure.
Glass ball-a symbol of vanity.
Hourglass and mechanical clock - the transience of time.
Musical instruments, notes-a symbol of the ephemeral nature of life.
Flowers can be interpreted in the same way, and a peeled lemon was, like life, attractive to look at but bitter to taste.

For me it was difficult to resist contributing to the collection of paintings of this genre, which flourished in the 16th and 17th centuries.

My parents had a large library of books on art. Since childhood, I showed the ability to draw, occasionally engaged in painting, taking private lessons. However, I decided to study at a technical University. After graduation, I was engaged in business for a long time. In 2016, I changed my life: place of residence and occupation. Having free time and opportunity, I began to paint, studied at private lessons and engaged in self -education. I believe that every person has their own life task. And sooner or later you have to define it and fulfill it. For some reason, it seems to me that I found it when I started doing classical painting. I work every day, following the motto of the old masters: "not a day without a line." And this gives me joy, despite the difficulties that arise when creating paintings made in traditional techniques. I paint beautiful paintings, improving more and more.I understand that the process of improvement is endless. And I am very happy about it.
