The work is shipped very carefully packaged in a protected tube and includes a certificate of authenticity Our body often escapes the focus of attention in the performance of our daily tasks. The essentially dynamic aspect of our lives often escapes us as well. In few phenomena is our body and the need to move in order to survive as present as in water. The origin of the works lies in my own experience, in the pleasure of diving and swimming in the swimming pool. You feel your body moving freely, but you also feel the temperature, the sounds, the currents and the energy of the water. I portray myself swimming, moving freely from an underwater point of view. I hope it relates to the viewer as it is a universal pleasurable sensation that most of us share.

Beatriz Minguez is a Spanish visual artist. Her passion is the sea - it’s in the family - and spends 2 months every year living and working on a boat ever since her childhood. Ever since her parents gave her her first camera at the age of 11, she has been obsessively photographing the sea.Her vision researches on the representation of the underlying energy found in natural landscapes, spaces, and people within them. She intends to portray the sea as a living being. And lately also looking for ways to represent the surreal feelings of the recent heat waves during the last summers. Beatriz did 12 years of classical ballet, explaining her passion for photographing herself dancing underwater. Her video art pieces and multimedia installations have been awarded many times in international film festivals, and she has recently been commissioned two public artworks.
