About The Artwork
With gratitude I remember my stay in Tokyo, taking part at an art fair. Living near Shibuya station, I passed the notorious busy crossing everyday. And each time I noticed this appartment block, just above the hectic of the street level. The curtains behind the grid of windows seem to convey a secret message. And I still love watching this image, wondering how to decode it. No. 1 of a limited edition of 8, personally signed and certified Original limited edition print on high quality photo paper behind plexiglass (Diasec). The plexiglass gives the image remarkable depth and brilliance to the image. For extra stability it has an aluminum Dibond base and it comes with a metal frame for direct wall mount.

Paul Brouns (1967) is a photographing artist based in The Netherlands. In 1990 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg specialising in photography, painting and drawing. Since the development of digital photography his camera and computer have become his main tools for creation. Observing the urban world, he is attracted by the abstract, rhythmic poetry of buildings. Available in limited editions, his work has been exhibited worldwide and sold to collectors, ranging from Tokyo, Seoul and New Delhi, to New York, London and Amsterdam. In 2022 his work is being exhibited at Palazzo Bembo in Venice during the Art Biennale. Through his photographic compositions the artist successfully inspires and touches people’s souls.
