About The Artwork

It is true when we say that "a different version of you exists in the minds of everyone who knows you". We are all colourful, we have sad and happy moments, we react differently to issues today than a month ago, we may be impacted by a lot of things on a daily basis. Some like us, some don't. I think we all have lots of shades and this is what I wanted to paint here: that we are all unique, beautiful and original. Adam Würtz Jr. was born in a family of artists in 1957 in Budapest, Hungary. Since the age of 18 he has worked as a freelance graphic artist and painter. He lived in New York from 2016 to 2011 and in Brussels, Belgium from 2013 to 2018. Ha has had 19 solo exhibitions and he participated at numerous group exhibitions. For this giclée print on canvas the best quality matte painting canvas was used from the American company Breathing Color. It has 100+ years of archival life certified by an independent certification body. This giclée print does not contain optical brighteners (OBA), yet its basic color is bright white.

Adam Würtz Jr. was born on 22 May, 1957 in Budapest, Hungary of an artist family. Since the age of 18 he has been working as a freelance graphic artist, currently living in Hungary. He became a professional graphic artist in 1984. He has been member of the Hungarian Artists' Association since 1984, and member of the Hungarian Association of Art and Applied Art since 1991. In that same year he also became member of the Hungarian Association of Graphic Artists. He has had numerous group exhibitions, the first one in 1975. His first solo exhibition took place in 1978 in Budapest, Hungary and he has had 19 solo exhibitions to date, including 3 in the United States, as well as in Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium and in Italy. His latest solo exhibition took place in Budapest, Hungary in September 2017, after 11 years. During his career he has also illustrated more than two dozen novels and short stories. He learned the knack of a graphic artist and painter from the best masters before having started his independent artst’s career in the 1970s. Perfectionism became an indispensable part of his tool case. As a rebellious man, however, he used every endeavour possible to distinct himself from the great predecessors in thematic and creative terms. The "anxiety of influence", a theory described by Harold Bloom is what best defines the first stages of his career. For him, this self-distinctiveness means self-reflection, a self-ironic, intellectual journey. While in contemporary galleries one could riot in the neo-avant-garde using wide and astonishing gestures, Würtz Jr. Withdrew to his small workshop and work on his oil, mixed media paintings and etchings with extraordinary precision, humility and inspiration. His thematic envisaging of the problems of future ages, however, is diametrically opposed to the chosen archaist technique. Würtz Jr. looked ahead 20-30 years in his early works. His works done in the 70s and 80s were best perceivable to the Millennials, to young audiences, giving them a cathartic experience of discovery. His dream-like montages and intricate visual images project story morsels with superficial communities and social alienation. They capture microscopic details of hidden messages of the ever-expanding, vividly interpretable universe. These tiny details are put on canvas, paper, giclée or scratched on copper plate with all the love of the artist. His works are strictly composed visual symphonies.
