I've been making abstract art for most of my life, paintings, drawings, collage, mixed media and abstract audio compositions and poetry. At some point, the world broke into particles. I realized that matter was interchangeable. Everything is significant, in that, it is part of everything else. Lately, I’ve been exploring abstract narrative paintings with brightly colored tempera and latex and collaborative audio albums including piano, bass, cello, guitar, horns, Orba, ambient sounds, voice, and more. Technically, I start with many sketches, select a few to draw on canvas, and then I start painting. I follow the story where it leads, interactively; gradually a narrative emerges. I moved to North Carolina in 2018 (where I am a member of the Orange County Artists Guild, Carrboro), after having lived in Miami for 33 years (where I was a frequent participant in the Listening Club, Audiotheque @ ArtCenter, Miami Beach). Originally from the Chicago area, I was a founding member of the experimental art rock band Merz Pix. Private collectors across the US and the globe (France, the UK, the Netherlands, Tasmania, Japan) have acquired my work. [8/02/2025]
