I am Tonmoy Das, a visual artist based in Dhaka with a lifelong passion for the canvas. While my academic background is in Statistics from the University of Dhaka, I have always maintained a deep, parallel commitment to the visual arts.
My work spans vibrant acrylic paintings on canvas to intricate sketches on paper. However, my most distinctive style is white charcoal sketching on black paper. By working in reverse—drawing the light rather than the shadows—I create high-contrast, atmospheric pieces that challenge the viewer’s perception of depth and luminosity. My art is where the precision of my training meets the expressive freedom of my childhood hobby.
