Zen Woman Drawing

With the idea of creating an allusion to the theme of meditation and control of the spirit, I decided to use the stones of the Japanese “Zen” philosophy as a base. These stones, stacked on each other, are associated with emotional balance and the ability to be in harmony with nature in meditation. The figure appears on top of the stones to share the same texture. In this way, I reinforce the idea of clarity that this form of Zen Buddhism seeks. This work was created with a dip pen, but I used two shades of blue with watercolor instead of black ink. In this way, I managed to lower the intensity of the ink’s blackness, which helps enhance the work with the softness that the subject requires.
