Contact us.I am a contemporary painter and a member of the Kulmbach Artists’ Association (Germany). I represent the third generation of the Pavlov artistic dynasty. My grandfather, Mykola H. Pavlov, was a professional artist and restorer of church murals and historic sacred interiors in Chișinău, Moldova. My father, Serhii M. Pavlov, is a talented artist from Ukraine.
Since 1998, I have worked professionally in oil painting, continuing the traditions of plein-air painting, contemporary realism, post-impressionist colourism, and restrained expressionism. My artistic practice is centred on a search for the hidden and subtle within reality—those dimensions that may remain beyond immediate perception.
My paintings are not merely representations of the visible world, but explorations of its hidden harmonies and subtle metaphysical dimensions. Working from direct observation while embracing the transformative possibilities of colour and form, I seek to reveal what often remains unnoticed: the silent dialogue between light and matter, memory and place, the transient and the eternal. My approach combines fidelity to reality with a philosophically reflective form of abstraction, in which colour becomes a vehicle of meaning and atmosphere acquires symbolic depth. In this way, each work aspires to transcend mere description and evoke a contemplative experience, inviting the viewer into a deeper encounter with beauty, presence, and the inner life of the world.
My artistic language is also informed by more than twenty years of academic and legal work in the fields of legal culture, legal heritage, and human rights. This interdisciplinary background has shaped my interest in human dignity, memory, cultural identity, and the relationship between the visible world and its underlying meaning.
I am the author of the concepts of “Equilibrium of Law” and the “Legal Value of the Human Right to Life,” presented in my monograph Law and Counter-Revolution: Confrontation with the Western Legal Tradition (2023). I have published more than 30 academic works, created over 100 paintings, participated in numerous exhibitions, and my works are held in private collections in Europe and beyond.
