Eugenia Chicu Touma- A NATURE LOVING ARTIST
Born and grown in a village Horodiste, Calarasi of Republic of Moldova in year 1988.
Surrounded by forests and hills, I am always attracted by nature by its beauty, shapes, forms, and colours. I wanted somehow to memorize those landscapes, those trees and animals around me.
I have experimented with many different materials and styles and currently I am using vibrant acrylic colours, Impressionism, and Expressionism. These are the main sources of inspiration and ideas that I like to explore in depth and utilize for producing my distinctive paintings with nature subjects as landscapes, seascapes and animal portraits. I also have an ardent passion for photography, love travelling, and during my spare time, I like to discover the secrets of nature through forest hiking, mountain climbing, and swimming in very cold rivers.
INSPIRATION
Being poor, I was not able to afford a camera to capture these real beauties of nature, so i decided to copy everything around me on paper. The difference between drawing & painting, with the camera, it is that you can add your own perception, your perspective, and your fantasy by mixing the colours and texture... the same a photography can transmit more information than any written text existed... That is why I started my art since I was a kid, even managed to win some kids' art competition. However, my art path took a break at the age of teenage years.
After few years of failure of choosing the right studies and jobs, I decided to move to Cyprus, because the “Mediterranean climate, culture and hospitality, push my creativity beyond my limits and I feel like home", as I often mention my international experience many times works as an extra gift, since I can communicate in several languages and absorb various cultural elements and information, which I always try to include in my Artistic creations. I was always interested in art, but my artistic path as a professional artist kicked off in 2017, when I had my first appearance in a group exhibition.
