For the composition of the forms of this painting I thought initially about the shape of the arch. It’s definitely another form among those I prefer as it is made of a curved and fluid line. In this work, the interlacing of these rings of a chain are ultimately an interlacing of arcs. I used metalli...

About the Artist

Massimo Passarino

Italy

Born on 9 december 1963 in Asti.
He graduated from the State Art Institute of his city in 1983.
In his initial artistic path, he already sees the need to move away from figurative art learned at school, to start a project more inclined to his way of communicating through painting.
It is therefore approaching abstract art, considering it a more suitable artistic language to exalt one’s feelings through forms, lines and colors and where also: "there are no apps that allow to link the painted image to any representation of reality'".
In his initial works, between the late 80’s and early 90’s, the oil technique has predominance, although not disdaining the use of crayon, watercolor and charcoal, used especially in the past years at the Institute for the acquisition of the technique of “chiaroscuro” , which technique which then completely omits to give space to works in which the shapes are colored in a strictly homogeneous way, completely without any nuance.
It will then arrive to the essentiality of form and composition itself, and the use, in a unique and definitive way, in his works, of acrylic painting, more consonant with the recent evolutions of the artist .
In these forty years of pictorial activity, he has revisited several important artistic periods as: the archaic figurative art, cubism , futurism , surrealism, abstract expressionism and finally the abstract geometric and american neoplasticism . "I paint pure and two-dimensional figures, coloring them in an extremely uniform way and without smudges, seeking a geometric perfection, obsessive, almost to want to provoke the viewer and make him doubt if it was printed.........."
"Mine is not a real link to some precise artistic current, but I am probably a curious man, without realizing it, I can draw inspiration from every art form that appears before me...; After all for me painting is an action of self-discovery, I can face different styles but in any case I always end up painting what I am ........., always and anyway involved in the search for a personal stylistic perfection".
