"Raging Waves," Painting

I am Digvijay Nath Srivastava, an artist and art conservator whose practice brings together abstract painting and decades of experience preserving works of art.

My paintings explore colour, texture and movement. Broad, expressive strokes meet fine, intersecting lines, while layered surfaces create depth and rhythm. My work ranges from bold compositions in earthy reds, ochres and charcoal to quieter arrangements of cream, grey and green. Within these abstract forms, suggestions of landscapes, water and architectural shapes emerge, leaving space for personal interpretation.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Art from Patna University in 1987 and joined the INTACH Conservation Institute in Lucknow in 1988. My conservation career has included work on paintings, works on paper and murals for museums, heritage sites and religious institutions across India, alongside conservation work in Malaysia. This background places my own painting practice within a lifelong engagement with art, its materials and its history.
