Rise explores transformation not as recovery from something broken, but as emergence—the moment when change becomes movement, strength and possibility. Contact us.Carlotta Adriaansz is a Dutch contemporary artist whose paintings explore the psychology of transformation.
Rather than painting portraits, she constructs psychological spaces in which identity, resilience and emotional change become visible. Working at the intersection of figurative realism and expressive abstraction, she combines classical craftsmanship with a contemporary visual language that invites viewers to recognize something of themselves.
Her paintings often begin with anonymous female figures, yet they are never about a particular person. They become mirrors for universal experiences: moments of loss, resilience, healing, awakening and rediscovery. Layers of oil and acrylic paint, expressive textures and carefully controlled composition create works that reveal new emotional nuances the longer they are observed.
Before becoming an artist, Adriaansz studied Architecture at Delft University of Technology and the University of Illinois at Chicago. This architectural background continues to influence her work through spatial composition, balance and structural thinking. Her technical foundation in painting began at the age of twelve under Italian painter Franco Soro and was further refined through advanced contemporary realism training, including training by Lucas Bononi (Dutch Atelier of Realist Art/ Grand Central Atelier New York).
Her recent collections move beyond autobiography. Rather than documenting personal experiences, they investigate universal psychological transformation: how people reconstruct identity after disruption, how perception changes through experience, and how vulnerability can become a source of strength.
Carlotta Adriaansz lives and works in The Netherlands. Her work has been exhibited internationally in London, Paris, Qatar
