When I begin a painting, I have no preconception of the final outcome. Each piece evolves through a spontaneous dialogue between myself and the canvas, guided entirely by emotion and instinct. Free from the distractions of overthinking, my work becomes an organic translation of feelings into form. The result often lies somewhere between representation and abstraction, offering viewers a space for interpretation and imagination. Texture is the essence and heartbeat of my art. It adds a tactile dimension, inviting viewers to engage beyond the visual and explore through touch and imagination. I incorporate materials such as grit, sand, and stones that I personally collect to create contrasting surfaces and unique focal points. Each material carries its own story, rooted in nature, enriching my work with depth and meaning. Colour is another cornerstone of my creative process. I am captivated by its boundless possibilities, blending vibrant acrylic paints directly on the canvas with wide brushes, knives, and spreaders. Every stroke reveals surprises and happy accidents, shaping the piece in unexpected ways and keeping the process alive with discovery. Sustainability is central to my artistic practice. In a world of limited resources, I prioritise repurposing materials to create something new and meaningful. For instance, my Gliterrati and Blue Navy Trellis collections were painted on beautifully textured wallpaper left over from a home renovation. These works are a testament to the beauty of reuse over consumption and reflect my commitment to honouring the materials around me. Through my work, I seek to connect—with texture, colour, and the stories embedded in the materials I use. My art invites viewers to feel, explore, and discover the harmony between emotion, nature, and creativity.
