About The Artwork
For this artwork, I used a solid pinewood stretching bars and a very fine blend of cotton and linen canvas. Linen thread prolongs the life of the original artwork and is more resistant to temperature changes. The deep edge frame is more resistant to moisture and less likely to wobble with time. The canvas is then primed with 4 coats of variant priming, to achieve the longevity of the canvas life and get a perfect surface for my very specific way of painting. After the canvas is finished, it's being coated with 4 layers of glazing and gloss varnish. This helps to achieve more vibrant colours, protect the artwork from dust and UV damage. The top layer of the painting is resistant to cleaning with gentle products (dusting cloth) and moisture. The gloss varnish can be removed with a professional varnish remover and re-varnished to achieve a different surface (matte/satin) or re-varnished if necessary.
