Contact us.Nikolajs Klimovs is a London-based contemporary artist. Born in Latvia to Russian parents during the late USSR period, he moved to United Kingdom in 2004, and have lived and worked in London ever since.
After graduating from London College of Fashion with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design Technology: Menswear he started a career in luxury fashion that spans over a decade now. A highly competitive and stressful environment provides a contrasting background to his perspective on art.
Nikolajs Klimovs’ work is an expression of cognitive, spatial, and colour interplay in an abstract form. The choice of paper medium is deliberate, an exercise in relinquishing ingrained anxieties brought on by perfectionism and the drive for control; with shapes free-hand cut and fixed at once, using no markings or rearrangements.
For Nikolajs art and philosophy have become a source and practice to challenge and rethink ideas of human experience in general, and personal life in particular.
