This vibrant colored pencil drawing plays with hyperrealism and depth, utilizing a trompe l'œil effect to make the subject appear as if it is climbing directly off the page. I am Manuel Reartes, a full time visual artist based in Córdoba, Argentina. My background studying Industrial Design gave me a deep, structural understanding of proportion, volume, and mechanical form, which eventually pushed me to dedicate my life entirely to fine art. My work is defined by extreme observation and patience. My portfolio bridges two distinct but complementary worlds: hyperrealistic automotive and object portraits (primarily using colored pencils and acrylics), and highly detailed, high contrast ink illustrations. My experience as a tattoo artist strongly influences my technique, bringing a precise, surgeon like approach to micro details, whether I am rendering the complex environmental reflections on a polished car fender or the stippled scales of a serpent in a traditional ink design. I am obsessed with the small elements that usually go unnoticed, as they are what truly give an image its character and weight. From private international commissions of heavy machinery and supercars to original abyssal illustrations, my goal is always the same: to translate my quiet, focused dedication to the craft into striking, realistic pieces.
