Contact us.Levan Beriashvili (b. 1986, Tbilisi) is a multidisciplinary artist. After graduating from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (TSSA) in 2007, he developed a versatile practice spanning oil painting, conceptual text, video and installation.
Since his 2007 collaboration with pianist Khatia Buniatishvili at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, his work has been exhibited internationally, including solo and group exhibitions in Georgia, Germany, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Turkey.
Between 2010 and 2015, he translated over 200 film scripts for television—an experience that recalibrated his visual sensitivity and introduced a distinctly cinematic awareness into his work.
Beriashvili further refined his technical and conceptual approach during his MFA studies at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (2016–2018).
Statement
At its core, my multidisciplinary practice is shaped by the suburban environment of Tbilisi. My work engages with dissonance between cultural center and periphery.
I am interested in how objective spaces—maps, walls, and built structures—interact with subjective, emotional experience. These environments are not neutral; they accumulate presence, memory, and pressure over time.
I explore what architecture retains and how it responds, often silently, to the people who inhabit it.
