ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was inspired by a young red-tailed hawk in California that landed on the grass in front of me and intently stared off into the distance. Whatever it was looking for, it was not concerned about me. My goal was to portray the seemingly never-ending vista that was its domain.

Most of my adult life has been spent working with animals, including at the San Diego Natural History Museum, the San Diego Zoo, and the Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney, Australia.
