Fragment Painting

Fragment started with a sloppy background grid. Over this grid are chunks of matter slowly coming together gathering mass. My painting is inspired by the act of painting. Nothing happens until I start manipulating my media. Paintings are given titles after they are finish which leaves the process open and undefined. The focus is on the moment of painting. That act propels the process. My paintings are best viewed at arm's length. That is my orientation to the painting. I invite the viewer to "read" my paintings by following the hand of the artist. Due to the lack of a known brush stroke the details of my paintings go deep. Fragment has a matte surface finish. Materials used are, urethane and acrylic binders, pigments in dispersal water and dry iridescent pigments on hollow core panel.
