I came up with this project back in 2015, when I was preparing for my diploma Thesis. I decided to make a non-iconic presentation of God Pluto/Hades but at the same time a self-portrait Fayum. After some research in ancient Greek folklore and philosophy I decided to get through this in a performative way. I pushed myself to get into the same preparation that Greeks did to their dead people, which was almost the same with the preparation they had before they get a prophecy in Acheron. I gathered my clothes, some personal stuff and old photos and I burned them to ashes, I mixed up the ashes with paraffin wax, my hair, blood and soil. I prepared the wood with whitewash, buried 3 bones into it and put them in the lowest place. In the highest place I put dove's remains, representing in this way the well-known «circle». This is one of the most personal pieces I ever made as it symbolizes my inner voyage to death.

Encaustic and mixed media Artist Manifesting religious non-iconic superior beings by worshipping archetypal materials. Paraffin, conjoined with soil and ash, imprint on the canvas points from the innermost journey of the descent Katabasis. The metallic elements combined with the wooden ones -given to me in pieces- are placed with other materials in points and symbolic compounds meaning the beginning and the intermediate. Skin, hairs, bones, feathers, whitewash, concrete, soil, ash; elements or materials, symbols or concepts, are given in order to both decipher and encrypt those points and references. Ancient and primitive concepts are reprinted in the post-modern. The dead being, the insect, wine and honey resurface what was kept undisclosed.
