About The Artwork
When I was painting this artwork I was listening to Miles Davis' album ‘Kind of Blue’. Having an idea for this painting in my head, I’ve stayed open minded during great trumpeter’s improvisations. Three kinds of black create a background for textured brush stroke. The thin line in the centre is very opaque black, the rectangle is glossy whereas the background stays matt. The Blue, thick, matt brush stroke plays its tone on the front of the painting.

My first memory of painting comes from the time when I was 2 or 3 years old. I mostly use acrylic paints. My first painting guru was Vincent van Gogh. I still like to use his colour pallet and share his passion for Japanese art. These days I focus on abstract painting. I am using some form of logic. I make references mostly to nature, leaving room for ambiguity. There is also a space for you, my viewer, to use your own imagination and experiences to finish my work. My art is a composition of my imagination, my soul, my experiences and passions.
