The image shows several bamboo leaves as a white negative imprint on a grey‑blue ground. Traces of chlorophyll remain visible. Here, the plant becomes the actual artist – I am merely the arranger. A natural artwork shaped through artistic intervention.

Contact us.Andrea Finck is a German artist working across painting, etching, and plant-based printmaking. Her practice explores landscape, memory, and archaeological strata, investigating how traces, sediments, and human intervention shape visual space. Trained in Classical Archaeology, she approaches material as both evidence and metaphor for time, transformation, and continuity. Finck lives and works near the River Elbe in northern Germany.
Art curator Kurt Beers (London) describes Finck’s work as existing in a space where material, memory, and excavation converge. He notes that her paintings possess a geological depth, as though each surface has been formed through time, sediment, and the gradual accumulation of pigment. “Each layer seems to carry the memory of an earlier state, creating works that feel excavated as much as painted.” This process of uncovering, revealing traces of the past within a contemporary surface, lies at the heart of her artistic practice.
