ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Continuing my chair series with this Bauhaus style furniture. It reminds me of travel, mainly because it looks like it belongs in an airport lounge or hotel reception. It's neat and tidy but you wouldn't want to snuggle up and watch a movie on it! This a limited edition fine art print. I use 12 pigment inks on 100% cotton rag paper 310gsm, to make my Giclée prints. It will be signed, numbered and include a certificate of authenticity. It is printed on A2(42x59.4cm) size paper . I package the prints up myself in a strong card tube, covered in acid free tissue paper, along with a thankyou note. In addition, you'll get an English Breakfast teabag as my way of saying thankyou 😊 I hope you enjoy my work as much as I did, making it. The artwork used for the Saatchi open edition prints have been adjusted to 16"x24" to avoid undue cropping.

I went to art college back in the 1970s, where I received a BA 1st (Hons) in Fine Art before completing an MA at the Royal College of Art in the film school. I then worked in film and video production and finally the education sector before early retirement. My main influences are the artists being talked about in the 1970s, such as Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg and Jim Dine. The New York scene seemed to combine and challenge what art, performance and film could be in a way that has left a permanent mark on my psyche. This cocktail of Pop Art imagery and Abstract Expressionist mark-making seems to be where I feel most comfortable. The imagery I refer to in my work is autobiographical and has a backstory which is both personal and yet familiar to us all. It is where everyday objects seem to mean a lot.
