Expressionist Portrait Artist | Contemporary Visual Artist | Art Curator
Bhaskar Patil is a self-taught contemporary artist based in Karnataka, India, whose artistic journey began in childhood. His work explores human expression, emotions, relationships and the beauty of everyday moments through bold compositions, expressive forms and a vibrant interplay of harmonious and contrasting colours.
Working primarily with acrylics on canvas and paper, Bhaskar creates expressive portraits, contemporary figurative paintings, religious and symbolic artworks, abstract compositions and mandala-inspired art. His artistic approach combines colour, texture and layered techniques to evoke feelings of joy, peace, hope and human connection.
A distinctive aspect of his practice is his exploration of layered neon and UV-reactive painting techniques. By experimenting with colour and light, he creates artworks that offer different visual experiences under natural lighting and suitable ultraviolet illumination.
Inspired by people, their moods, relationships, music and moments observed in everyday life, Bhaskar approaches painting as a form of visual storytelling. He often captures moments through photography and transforms them into expressive compositions, inviting viewers to connect with the emotions and stories within each artwork.
Alongside his studio practice, Bhaskar works as an art curator and exhibitor and serves as Secretary of Varnakala Sanskrutik Sangh, Belagavi, Karnataka. Through his involvement in exhibitions, art competitions, art camps and cultural initiatives, he contributes to creating opportunities for artists and encouraging wider appreciation of visual arts.
Through his paintings and community engagement, Bhaskar aims to create meaningful connections between art and people, bringing colour, emotion and individuality into the spaces his artworks inhabit.
