Exploding Into Life Painting

I was living in California when I painted this painting - the orange inspired by the native orange poppies - and I wanted to capture the life and energy that is held in nature. A soft and delicate subject that forms itself and forces itself into the world is somewhat powerful, I found the supposedly opposing softness and strength captured my attention as it felt so similar to humanity - frail and yet strong. I hope that a viewer would feel energised and excited when they see the painting, that they find a sense of momentum created inside of them.
