Contact us.I am a Polish visual artist living and working in Boxholm, Sweden, among forests and lakes. For four decades I have followed one conversation: between the human figure and the natural world.
I paint people and nature not as separate subjects, but as two faces of the same mystery. In nature I find pattern, rhythm and an honesty that doesn’t argue with itself. In the human figure I find vulnerability, and the quiet drama of existing between opposing forces. When I work, the boundary between them dissolves: a landscape becomes emotional, a figure becomes elemental.
My language is semi-abstract and figurative. I work in oil on canvas, mixed media on paper, hand-printed linocuts and monotypes, and sculpture in steel and wood. The compositions are deliberately open, resistant to a single interpretation, so that a work can reveal something in its tenth year on the wall that it withheld in the first.
Trained as a printmaker in Warsaw and holding a doctorate in fine arts from Kraków, I have also taught printmaking and graphic design. My work is held in museum and private collections in Europe, the USA and Dubai.
