ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Oil painting on canvas wooden board,100% handmade high quality oil. Ready to hang. The painting is created in the original manner, where the work on the "wet" canvas is combined with voluminous textured brush strokes. Unique effects, close to the watercolor painting of Alla-prima, create a unique game of colors, halftones, lightness and airiness. On the front side, there is a signature of the artist, and on the back, there is the name of the picture, initials and year of painting. The sides are painted as a part of the picture, so there is no need to frame them. All the paintings are carefully packed in cardboard boxes, with layers of packaging film, so that the paintings can safely reach their destination

Katia Ricci is a visual artist based in Italy dedicated to creating impressionistic paintings full of whimsical charm, vibrant color. "There is something healing and contemplative about creating art. Art is less about what we feel to make as artists and more of what it makes of us." Story There comes a time in an artist’s life when you think on all that long journey gone as an artist to arrive where you are now. I mentally go back to the lifetime when my father was alive and I realize that I owe everything to him including my artistic abilities. Besides teaching mathematics he was a graphic artist in his free time. He never encouraged me to draw since that could hardly become a source to make my living. That humble man had always considered art as a wonderful escape, never dared to call himself an artist, because Artists were in books, in private collections, museums... like mathematicians or scientists must have had a solid academic basics to practice their profession.... The pencil for him was just a part of harmonious mathematical world.. He knew exactly what he would get hand drawn without using an erasor.. Contrary to him, when approaching a blank canvas I never know so far what will come to life and it's such a thrill.. My daily inspiration comes from what I see around, glimpses into every day things. Primarily I attempt to capture the quintissential aspects of colors and their combinations. I celebrate the color, the Art of creation started from the color and it is everywhere, the only thing to do is to perceive its ever-changing harmonious beauty. My favorite place is near my easel, here my heart beats in a particular way. The main subjects I try to embed in my oils are flowers, birds, landscapes, seascapes. Occasionally I venture into portraiture. All my paintings are signed with my own surname Iourashevich. Ricci is my husband's surname and my art's pseudonym.
