This picture is painted on cardboard with Lascaux gouache colors. First I painted a silver shimmering background, because of the silver frame I wanted to use. Than I switch of the mind and let my soul speak. This was the result. My paintings are colorful, expressive, impulsive, radiant, dynamic, fr...

About the Artist

Carola Vahldiek

Germany

I work as a fine art painter, author and nature photographer in a small town near Hamburg, Germany. In my studio, I create colourful, cheerful paintings. I am also passionate about writing positive, uplifting and magical, imaginative poems and stories. When I’m not painting or writing, you’ll often find me outdoors, capturing the beauty of nature through my camera on long rambles.

My photographs and paintings have been displayed in various exhibitions. Over the years, I have won regional, national and international awards in the fields of photography, painting and writing.

You can bring my paintings into your home through various art calendars. I have also published three children’s books, an all-age fantasy novel, a book of inspiration and a small collection of poetry. In addition, several hundred poems and short stories have been printed in around 300 gift books, calendars and magazines. Various photo calendars are also available on the market. Some of these combine photographs with lyrics.

Through my work, I aim to make the world a little brighter, to empower others and to sprinkle a little magic and beauty into life.

In both my forms of expression and the styles of my works, I do not limit myself to a single approach. My creativity and my desire to express myself and the beauty that I feel and perceive demand to be brought out into the world without artificial constraints.
I look at preconceived opinions and paths trodden by others, and whilst I may draw inspiration from them, I eventually leave them behind to continue on my own path. It is the infinite vastness of life that captivates me time and again.
I create figurative and abstract pieces in the fine arts. I love to use a variety of painting styles and techniques and to create very different works depending on my feelings, intuition and heart's mood. Only my heart and my desire for beauty and inner and outer brightness are my compasses in my work.

Over time, my way of taking photographs, writing and painting has increasingly evolved into an almost philosophical contemplation of life itself. There are completely different ways of looking at things. And each way leads to a different reality.

In this way, all these possibilities give me the freedom to let something new emerge and to create my own unique, extraordinary, surprising and striking images of reality. Thus, my art speaks of the love and freedom I feel within myself, and of all the wonders of the world that can still be found today.
