This work was inspired by the experience of steady movement under emotional and psychological pressure—an internal sway that continues even when clarity is disrupted. The repeated vertical lines and layered surface suggest rhythm, resistance, and persistence rather than stillness. I hope viewers fe...

Contact us.About the Artist – Mamta Mehta
Born in Bombay and based in Dallas since 1999, Mamta Mehta is an emerging oil painter with a background in Design, Fashion, Visual Communications, and Education. Her creative journey began during her college years, when painting became a quiet refuge amid the demands of motherhood, academics, and community service.
Influenced by the minimalist sensibilities of Frank Stella, Mamta developed a meditative visual language rooted in repetition, rhythm, and layering. Her signature approach—groupings of five intuitive strokes—emerged organically and holds personal symbolism, reflecting the five letters in both her first and last names.
Mamta works across both large-scale oil paintings and smaller, more experimental pieces in acrylic and mixed media. While her larger works allow for depth, immersion, and sustained presence, her smaller works are often faster and more instinctive—created through rigorous experimentation with varied styles, techniques, and materials. Together, these approaches add range and texture to her growing body of work.
While her paintings often convey calm and balance, they also explore emotional pressure, resilience, and the layers we build to protect ourselves. After years of teaching, Mamta now paints full-time. The act of painting has become both grounding and healing—an uninterrupted space to explore presence, emotion, and endurance. Her work invites viewers into moments of contemplation, where movement, color, and feeling quietly coexist.
