Iskra is a fine art artist living and working in London, England. Iskra’s training as an illustrator has informed her drawing style. She works in graphite and 24K gold and platinum. She uses a mechanical pencil and her shading technique results in a smooth and silky finish. 24K gold and platinum is engraved on each artwork. The strong contrast between these two very different materials is deliberate and reflects the darkness (earth) and brightness (gold) of life. The play of light on the gold changes depending on the time of day, symbolic of the constancy of change all around us in nature. “The Garden in Me”, was selected by curator Sergio Gomez for the Visionary Art Collective, Brooklyn, New York exhibition, ”Metamorphosis: The Art of Transformation”.
