About The Artwork
This small work is drawn on a handmade type of rice paper, so it has a beautiful natural deckle edge. Areas of color are built up to resemble a sort of atmospheric mesh. The work is mounted on Archival 100% Cotton mat board backing and matted for 11" x 14" frame size. I was done to evoke a mood of antiquity, something old and used up, yet has beauty in it's quiet deterioration. The scene is of a boarded up gas station which has since been demolished.
