VOID is part of my ongoing IN / OUT OF RANGE series, exploring memory, absence, and the spaces left behind when people, places, and stories begin to fade. Contact us.David Buetsche is a Covington, Kentucky-based contemporary artist working across painting, assemblage, sculpture, and site-responsive installation. His research-driven practice examines landscapes as archives of human activity, investigating the traces left by labor, infrastructure, extraction, environmental change, and collective memory.
Combining painting, collage, archival imagery, and salvaged materials, Buetsche creates layered compositions that function as fragments of evidence rather than literal representations of place. His work explores the relationship between what remains visible and what has been forgotten, inviting viewers to construct their own narratives through sustained observation.
His work has been exhibited nationally, including at the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art, Center for Contemporary Arts in Abilene, and Artists Archives of the Western Reserve. In 2026, he received First Place in Contemporary Visions of the West at the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art.
