'Lost Line' is an highly textured, abstract work of art in acrylic medium on deep edge canvas. Strong contrasting colours with tones of red, black, duck egg blue and sky blue come together in harmony to represent a loose, geometric design creating great impact for the viewer. Gold paint has been applied to highlight and enhance, giving reflection and glimmer, adding a new dimension. I have used spatters of black with layers of pigmented acrylic paint and mediums in a considered approach to recreate a sense of the elements for which great architecture has reacted to over time. For this style, I find acrylic my preferred medium, allowing me to work with spontaneity and immediacy, enabling me to focus from my minds eye. My inspiration comes from many sources, most of which are from travel to weird and wonderful places steeped in history. Modern culture is now moving to the industrial interior design concept and think this style of contemporary art complements many modern ideas to feature in new and interesting environments giving a focus to any wall aspect whether at home or in your work space. The deep edge stretched canvas comes with fixtures and fittings in place and is therefore ready to hang without framing although a frame of your choice can still be added if you prefer.

Janet works from her studio in South Cambridgeshire, as a freelance artist, supplying semi abstract, impressionistic and fine art to publishing companies worldwide. Her paintings are sold from galleries throughout the South of England and internationally via the web. She has become a much recognized artist for her subject matter and her unique creative style of work. ʺI enjoy experimenting with all mediums but watercolor and acrylic are the ones I find most satisfying. Depending on the subject, I find that it would either lend itself more to the delicate touches of watercolor or to the stronger and more vibrant colors of acrylic paint and each would allow me to translate a ‘mood’ a subject might evoke”. I have come to realize that it’s not ‘what you paint’ that is important, but ‘how you paint it’. So in my interpretation of painting a subject, I try to maintain the essence of what first inspired me to paint it. For me, what is fundamental in my paintings are light, subtlety of color, harmony, depth and drama, while still staying true to the subject. In my finished work, I hope that I have conveyed to the viewer a sense of mood, which was present at the time of painting it.ʺ
