Emilia Polińska is a Polish artist based in Germany. Her work focuses on emotion, color and atmosphere rather than realistic representation.
A distinctive element of her paintings is the use of visible, directional brushstrokes and contrasting layers of color. Individual marks remain visible up close, while from a distance they come together to build recognizable forms.
Inspired by nature, transformation and the contrast between light and darkness, she creates expressive compositions in which familiar subjects are interpreted through color and movement. Painting is for her a way of expressing what can be difficult to put into words.
