Contact us.I am a South African artist, poet, and amateur photographer based in Mpumalanga. Born in Zimbabwe and raised in both Cape Town and Phalaborwa—a small town in the far north of South Africa—I grew up as a true "bush baby." Those formative years, immersed in an unspoiled natural environment, nurtured a lifelong love of flora, fauna, and the wilderness. With the Kruger National Park virtually on my doorstep, encounters with wildlife were simply part of everyday life.
My artistic education began not in a classroom but in nature itself. The African bush became my teacher through its scorching summers, buzzing insects, rivers, mountains, forests, ancient trees, and extraordinary wildlife. As a child and young adult, I travelled extensively throughout South Africa and Zimbabwe, deepening my appreciation of the landscapes and ecosystems that continue to inspire my work today.
My subjects include wildlife, birds, flowers, still life, landscapes, portraits, and the human figure. Rather than limiting myself to a single style, I move naturally between realism, contemporary expression, and abstraction, allowing each subject to determine its own visual language.
Oil paint—what I affectionately call "the living paint"—is my preferred medium, but I also enjoy working in watercolour, acrylic, gouache, pastel, pen and ink, and freehand digital art. My curiosity has led me to explore a variety of creative disciplines, including batik, lino printing, collage, and mosaic. Although I am largely self-taught, I have always drawn inspiration from God, the natural world, books, and the creativity of others. Above all, I believe in perseverance and in continually seeking new ways to grow as an artist.
I am also the author of Take a Walk With Me, a collection of 41 original poems illustrated with my artwork and photography. The book reflects my love of combining words and images to tell stories and celebrate the beauty of everyday life.
Photography is another creative passion that complements both my art and my writing. Together, these interests provide the inspiration and content for my WordPress blogs, where I share reflections on art, nature, creativity, and faith.
Creating art is one of life's greatest joys for me. Thank you for taking the time to explore my work. I hope it brings you a sense of beauty, peace, and wonder, just as creating it has brought me.
