Roe Day 13 Photograph - Limited Edition of 25

This photo was taken of the West Hollywood protest of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, overturning women's reproductive rights, and overturning Roe v. Wade. It was inspired by much more than that, including an apparatus made up of multiple non-profits, volunteers, and small-money donors from around the country, and even around the world. This is what our brighter tomorrow looks like, because the only thing that can give us hope for the future – is us. In this wide black and white photograph, the towering tree symbolizes resilience amidst the struggle against oppression. Shadows cast across the grass evoke the complexities of pain and despair, yet hint at the potential for empowerment and hope. Inspired by the works of Ansel Adams and Henri Cartier-Bresson, this image invites reflection on the enduring spirit of resistance and the quest for a brighter future. An example of Post Colonial art style. Profits from this project will go towards buying new equipment and supplies to launch a bold new series of works.
